Kalanggaman Leyte, Tacloban

Found some more photos: The year before Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) landed in the Philippines, my friends and I visited the virgin island called Kalanggaman in Leyte. It’s about 1-2 hours away from the city by boat. There’s no water or electricity in the island so you need to bring your own fresh water and grill your food.

This was my first time to camp out in an island and sleep under the stars because it was just too hot inside the tent.

I’m happy to know that Tacloban is successfully recovering from the typhoon and is now starting to accept more tourists.

Here are some photos I took when we visited the island. Enjoy!

And I got to visit the San Juanico Bridge, connecting Samar and Leyte!

My excuse for this trip? My friend’s leaving for Europe.
