Three hours away from Paris is Colmar, one of the most popular commune in the Alsace region in the north-eastern part of France. It is considered as the “capital of Alsatian wine” so when you come and visit make sure you drink lots of Alsace white wine!
It is known for well preserved old colored houses just like in fairytale stories!
Stay in Centerville where the old preserved houses are!
If you will rent a car, you will have enough time to visit the nearby provinces like Strasbourg and see a different side of the region. Colmar and Strasbourg are also perfect areas to visit during Christmas where it becomes a Christmas Town.
There are a lot of Michelin restaurants in the area so go take your pick!
Colmar was awarded one of Europe’s Hidden Gems back in 2015 and top 37 places to go and visit for 2016 by The New York Times.
